Happy Bladder.  Urine Luck!

Course Description:

Bladder control problems are common, especially in women. Researchers estimate that approximately half of all women experience Urinary Incontinence (UI). Women are more likely to develop UI during and after pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. These events and how the female urinary tract is built make UI more common in women than men. Although UI is common, it is not a routine part of getting older.  Research has found it is affecting athletes and the younger populations, based on environmental, and internal toxins. and stress posed on the body during exercise.

The United States is in the top 3 ranked countries in constipation occurrence, 50% of adults in the US have urinary incontinence.  This rate increases significantly with age.

As many as 1 in 3 men over the age of 65 may lose urine by accident, and approximately half of men who seek treatment for lower urinary tract symptoms experience UI. A man is more likely to develop UI with age because prostate problems occur more often with age.

Bowel and bladder dysfunction can lead to multiple problems including embarrassment, depression, anxiety, decreased skin health, and social isolation.  It leads directly to a decreased quality of life.  This course is designed to prepare the participant to address bowel and bladder dysfunction in the male and female population. Often times teaching this population to contract the pelvic floor musculature can be difficult. Many comorbidities and toxins can factor into the cause of dysfunction and success of traditional treatment strategies for these clients.  This course will address the anatomy and function of the bowel and bladder as well as teach the participant strategies to combat barriers to success.  It will give an overview of the importance of diet, detoxification, exercise, positioning, and mobilization in relation to bowel and bladder function.  In addition, demonstration using Quantum Biofeedback will provide the participant and pathway to address these conditions with their clients.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand the function of the bowel and bladder and what causes dysfunction in these organs.
  2. Identify the signs, symptoms and types of bowel and bladder dysfunction, and methods to mitigate stress and decline in function.
  3. Perform mobilization and exercise techniques to improve the function of these organs.
  4. Identify natural and nutritional remedies that enhance bowel and bladder health and performance.
  5. Through a Quantum Biofeedback demonstration, the participant will be able to follow a bowel and bladder enhancement protocol to maximize the client’s response to each biofeedback session.
